EnClave Dance Takeover Code of Conduct

• Always ask before dancing! A simple “Would you like to dance?” is perfect.
• Respect a ”no” everyone has the right to decline a dance invitation any time for any reason.

• Control your movements to avoid collisions and injury
• Protect your partner on the dance floor, especially during spins and dips
• Avoid unnecessary flashy moves e.g. lifts, tricks, dips, on a crowded dance floor

• Fresh breath, clean clothes, and deodorant go a long way
• Bring spare shirts or a towel if you sweat a lot
• Respect personal space and avoid wearing heavy fragrances

• Social dancing is not the place to “teach” 
• Conversely, don’t ask to be taught while social dancing. That’s what the workshops are for!
• Offer encouragement instead of corrections
• Celebrate each others efforts and enjoy your dance!

• We are one big dance community. Introduce yourselves to new dancers
• Dance with new dancers
• Welcome newcomers with kindness

• If someone crosses a boundary, feel empowered to speak up or walk away
• If you witness harassment or inappropriate behavior, inform an event organizer or staff member

• If someone expresses discomfort, listen without defensiveness 
• Navigate feedback with grace

• The most important thing of all is to have fun
• Enjoy the dance, the music, the connection with your partner, and the community

EnClave Dance reserves the right to ask any attendee to leave without refund if their behavior is disruptive, unsafe, or in violation of these guidelines. Your presence at this event implies understanding and acceptance of these expectations.
